SINGING. DANCING. ACTING.
Kaleo Arts | Where kids, creativity, and joy collide.
We believe each child is uniquely made with the ability to influence the world around them and there is incredible impact when kids from different communities collaborate artistically together. Kaleo exists to give kids a voice and platform to share their creative expression with the purpose of lifting others up. Through our one-of-a-kind arts programming, we bring students together from our Kensington Church community and local public schools to develop music, dance, drama, and songwriting skills as well as character-building and empathy. Our desire is for every child to know they are valued and capable of changing the world for the better.
THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WE OFFER SEVERAL PROGRAMS, INCLUDING:
Kaleo Kids
A school-based elementary musical theater program where kids experience music, drama and dance and work towards putting on a live production. Each week includes a community time lesson where they dive into their character-building theme for the session. This program is held in partnership with local schools including ITA Elementary and Rogers Elementary in Pontiac.
Spark Summer Camp
Experiencing the joy of being loved by Jesus through the performing arts! Over a whirlwind week, elementary students get an incredible summer camp experience learning music, drama and choreography that culminates in a live concert performance on the last day of camp. The week includes workshops from guest artists from the local, professional community of photographers, visual artists, designers, or performers. There are daily community time lessons based on the Biblical theme of the week filled with object lessons, fun skits or sketches, and other memorable moments.
Kaleo Songwriters
A middle and high school program where students come together to collaborate on original music. They also have the amazing opportunity to be mentored by professional songwriters and music producers who give feedback on their songs.
